Having already had a rich and adventurous career in the gourmet restaurant sector, Jimmy, fell in love with the square on which the future Questel would be located, while strolling around the city one day. After lunch on the terrace of the former restaurant on the site, and then, later, a dinner with friends, the Questel was born! Why was the Brasserie named “Le Questel”? Charles Auguste Questel was the architect who designed the Saint Paul Church (just a stone’s throw from the restaurant) in the 19th century. So, the name is a little nod to such an illustrious person.
Le Questel will soon be celebrating its 5th anniversary! Those five years have been an extraordinary adventure, a wonderful five years with a fantastic team working to provide the restaurant’s customers with a real treat for the taste buds. The word “cosy” describes the restaurant perfectly. Eva, Victoria and Stéphanie are there to ensure all our customers receive a warm welcome and great service. Come and discover this beautiful brasserie and enjoy its seasonal produce and warm, welcoming atmosphere.
A magical moment to be shared with family or friends!
This is the very philosophy of the Head Chef Pierre Vérot and his team. Wines from local producers and further afield, cocktails created by our amazing barman Lionel, or even Champagne, are the perfect way to accompany our fine cuisine. The Wine and Champagne list reflects the image of the Brasserie, a balance between small and large producers, blending tradition and modernity, but always with the same goal of delivering quality, experience and passion. While our barman Lionel loves the great classics, he will also surprise you and take you on a journey around the world with his cocktails and carefully-selected products.
You will undoubtedly fall under the spell of this “bistro” cuisine with its generous dishes at lunchtime, as well as carefully-prepared evening meals to share with family or friends, such as our Tapas à la française! French cuisine, yes indeed!!!!
Jimmy VIALLE, the Director of the Brasserie and Pierre VEROT, the Head Chef, were both awarded this title.
These two distinctions a real honour, which we are delighted to be able to share with you!
The Maître Restaurateur title is awarded by the French Ministry of Trade and Crafts and acknowledges restaurant owners and chefs that are committed to following an eco-responsible approach in order to provide traditional and innovative culinary dishes.
“In today’s society, people are increasingly looking to eat healthier, local products, but the notion of transparency is not always genuine, and it can be difficult for consumers to know exactly what they’re really getting.” With this in mind, the Association Française des Maîtres Restaurateur applies the values of creativity, proximity, and in-house cooking using fresh, seasonal products on a day-to-day basis.
We respect our environment. We keep our waste production to a minimum and recycle waste as much as possible.

We have established a genuine partnership with the training organisation CONTRAST in order to ensure we meet our commitments in terms of quality and food safety, through the vocational training of our teams and our continuous improvement policy.
A big THANK YOU to Marc ANTOINE!
